What cookies are

Cookies and similar browser storage help websites remember information. We keep our use of them limited and give you a choice before optional analytics starts.

Essential storage

The website stores your cookie choice so it does not ask on every visit. The private requests dashboard also uses a secure sign-in cookie, but ordinary visitors do not use it. These functions are necessary for the choices or services you request.

Optional analytics

If you select “Accept analytics”, Google Analytics helps us understand visits, popular birthday dates, book requests and clicks leading to Amazon. Analytics remains off if you reject it. Google may set identifiers such as _ga and a property-specific _ga_* cookie when analytics is enabled.

Changing your choice

Use the “Cookie settings” button at the bottom of the website at any time. If you withdraw consent after accepting analytics, the page reloads without starting analytics again. You can also remove existing cookies through your browser settings.
